Due to the housing shortage in Auckland thousands of proposals have been put forward for discussion how to best deal with the issue.
One proposal put forward was to reduce the minimum size of a studio or apartment.
Currently a studio must be 35 square meter,s in floor area and a apartment must be 50 square meter,s of floor area.
Thankfully the proposal was not approved and we will not be building Shoe Box apartments in Auckland to reduce the housing crisis.
Apartments are a easy way of condensing large amounts of people living on a small square meterage of land mass and i understand that but they also must be of a size that is also a safe and healthy for people to live in .
